Live Podcast Event
Since its debut in fall 2023, Side A Podcast has become a vital platform for cultural exchange, bridging the generational gap between Gen Z and Millennials. The podcast fosters a sense of belonging for diasporan Africans, with a particular focus on supporting Queer Africans seeking community. Side A Live was the podcast's first ever event and live show, and it sold out in 72 hours with over 70+ RSVPs and attendees.
After working on Side A Podcast's brand strategy, Diasporic Femme Studios recommended course of action was to focus on building local community in NYC (where the podcast is based) and across the globe in cities like Los Angeles, London and Lagos, where their most engaged audiences live. We ideated a live podcast show for an interactive experience with the guests, and suggested a Valentine's (or "Galentines") Day theme, which we knew would appeal to the podcast's demographics.
For this event, Diasporic Femme Studios handled end-to-end event production, brand strategy, and creative direction as well as contract negotiation with the location.
